On January 9, 2001 the “HSV-FANCLUB New York City” was founded at the Irisch pub “Coogan’s” (4015 Broadway at169th Street, New York, NY). Founding members of this first HSV-Fanclub in overseas were Dorothee B. Salchow, Olaf Schmitt-Kilian and Dr. Daniel J. Salchow. The president was born in Hamburg (as was Dorothee) and is currently a resident in ophthalmology at the Harkness Eye Institute, Columbia University in New York City.
The HSV-FANCLUB New York City is an official fanclub, the certificate was received on February 24, 2001 after the match against Wolfsburg.

Goals of the HSV-FANCLUB New York City are to win friends for soccer and the one and only German team, HSV (Hamburger Sport Verein). The Fanclub is intended to be the home of all international fans of HSV, especially those living in the US.

In July, Shana and Daniel (the President of the HSV-FANCLUB New York City) moved from New York City to Washington, DC. Thus, Oliver Lunt ist he only remaining member who actually lives in NYC. Nevertheless, the work of the fanclub shall continue, because it ist he home of all HSV-Fans abroad, especially in the U.S., and secondly because Shana is from upstate New York.

We are expecting an exciting season and look forward to seeing great football in the good old Volksparkstadion!
